Collective agreement

A collective agreement is a written contract between the employer and a union that outlines many of the terms and conditions of employment for employees in a bargaining unit. The terms and conditions are reached through collective bargaining between the employer and the union.

Bylaws

Bylaws maintain consistency in the running of the Local. Bylaws contain the responsibilites of the Executive Board and contain provisions in which they conduct business on behalf of the Local.

Seniority list

Seniority is the length of time that an individual has served in a job or worked for an organization. Seniority is important to unions and union workers in that it can determine the pay, benefits and job responsibilities of workers.
